I noticed a few people have been saying that they are glad that Korra wasn’t mentioned/shown in the episode last night, and that they were glad that Mako wasn’t exactly worried about her.
Isn’t this show called The Legend of KORRA? Don’t get me wrong. I do love the other characters, and of course they deserve screen time too, but I honestly can’t believe people were happy to not have Korra.
It’s like bitching that Sailor Moon revolves around Sailor Moon too much.
You know last week I got a lot of backlash when I said that a big chunk of people are hating on Korra because she was a girl. That if she was a guy instead of being called immature, brat, hot headed and the always favorite irrational she would be the bad ass who doesn’t play by the rules
And holy shit did this episode prove me right. Mako went directly against the orders of his boss(not because his family’s lives were on the lines but because he’s got a hard on to solve a case that isn’t his). Made an alliance with a dangerous criminal gang and promised that he would make the Avatar gives a dangerous criminal his bending back not to mention supply the criminal gang with resources. Then his rash plan failed utterly. And yet I don’t see even a fraction of the hate Korra gets flowing towards Mako. Nope instead Asami(who *gasp* is another girl )gets the brunt of the hate
Wanna bet that if Korra had pulled the exact same stunt as Mako there would be posts upon posts calling her yet again immature, stupid, brat, irrational ,spoiled and so on?
Let’s face it. LOK fandom is sexist as hell And the sad thing is that I am pretty sure that a lot of this sexism comes from other girls. It’s really sad how society brainwashes girls to hate each other but root for the “cute”guy
